Menonita offers health coverage options designed in accordance with the laws applicable to employees and retirees of the Government of Puerto Rico, as well as municipalities that contract health plans for their employees. Government Employees and Retirees
(Law 95)

The alternatives under Law 95 are aimed at active employees and retirees of the Government of Puerto Rico who select and purchase their health plan individually, in accordance with the established eligibility criteria.

Who does it apply to?

  • Active employees of the Government of Puerto Rico.
  • Government retirees.
  • Retirees without Medicare A & B or with only Part A, as applicable.
  • Eligible dependents.

What does this alternative offer?
The available options include the Rubí, Plata, and Mandatoria alternatives, which provide access to medical and hospital services, pharmacy, dental, vision, mental health, preventive programs, and the preferred provider network throughout Puerto Rico.

Municipalities (Law 63)

The alternative under Law 63 is directed to municipalities of the Government of Puerto Rico, which negotiate and contract health coverage directly for their employees as the employer entity.

What does this alternative offer?
Under Law 63, Menonita works together with the municipal entity to design a customized health solution, defining the plan structure, benefits, and coverage levels according to the municipality’s needs, budget, and agreed contractual terms.

Retiree Alliance (Law 117)

The alternative under Law 117 is aimed at organizations that represent retirees of the Government of Puerto Rico, which may negotiate and directly contract health plan benefits for their members who participate voluntarily.

Who does it apply to?

  • Organizations that represent retirees of the Government of Puerto Rico.
  • Associations or organized groups of retirees.
  • Retired members who participate voluntarily through their organization.
What does this alternative offer? Law 117 of 2016 allows these organizations to negotiate health plan benefits for their members.
